After installing the latest Modx Revolution Beta-5 today (fresh installation), the manager page appears completely blank. Everything was good in the installation process. I did a few installations from scratch (including clear cache, etc), but still the blank page in Manager? How can it be resolved?

    I’m using Firefox 3.6. PHP 5.2.0, Apache version 2.2.14 and MySql 5.0.89.

After attempting several times now, what I found out was that there seems to be a trouble with connection information fields. No matter what I entered information (error or even blank) and click on the link as follows:

→ Test database server connection and view collations.

Result: "Connecting to mysql server: Success!"

The only error log I have as follows (if that helps) but mysql tables were created and shown in mysql:

    [Tue Feb 23 17:40:59 2010] [error] [client 68.148.134.82] PHP Warning: PDOStatement::execute() [<a href=’pdostatement.execute’>pdostatement.execute</a>]: SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table ’site_modx.modx_actiondom’ doesn’t exist in /home/site/public_html/modx/core/xpdo/om/mysql/xpdomanager.class.php on line 156, referer: http://www.noname.com/modx/setup/?action=summary

    and so on

It is my first modx ever AND first cms ever so I hope it will be my first and last cms/cmf. Hope somebody will help me along the way!

    Thanks much

Could you look at the DB in phpMyAdmin. See if modx_access_actiondom is there and report how many tables there are in total?

modx_access_actiondom is the first one and your appears to be missing, but maybe all of them are missing.

If modx_access_actiondom and the other tables are not missing, it may be a bug in MySQL 5.0.89, a mismatch between PHP and MySQL versions, or a PDO misconfiguration issue at your host.

modx_access_actiondom is there in mysql, I see. And there are 57 tables.

What goes wrong? What can one do about it?

        Thanks

Look near the bottom of this page and see if anything helps:

If that doesn’t work, here are some threads with similar installation issues:

Thanks for the references -- a tip is to download and upload it again. I will start all over again from scratch -- downloading and uploading new files (Modx Revolution beta).

Is there a tutorial or instruction on how to use these .htaccess properly. I noticed these and don’t know if I did anything wrong with them. Should I rename these ht.access files to .htaccess before installing?

What should I do about the existing index.php and .htaccess files on my website (smaller one to test and learn) when installing Modx Revolution?

            Thanks

I find it’s generally best to leave the file as ht.access (which is ignored) until everything works the way you want it. Then you can start implementing Friendly URLs: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Friendly_URLs_Guide

Unless the current .htaccess was put there by your host, you can rename it to take it out of the picture.
