Ok, I’m going crazy here.... I searched all over Extras and tried some snippets, but they are deprecated or they don’t work as I thought..

SO.... I have a simple question!

Can someone provide me a link to a good, yet simple to use calendar for MODx?

The goal is to have a calendar that will output documents (events) from certain folder (ex. ID=123) and display them in the calendar using documents published and un-published dates.

    Example:
    -> Doc ID=987 has published date 22.02.2010 and un-published date 01.03.2010.
-> Doc ID=987 should be vissible in calendar under date 01.03.2010.
-> could be nice if some more functions are there also (like pagetitle, link to that doc, event flyer (?!?) bla bla bla..)

I’ve tried SimpleEvents before but I think Ditto with date TVs might be the ticket. I’m currently setting up a simple event calender using that approach.

        Any live examples/demos?

I have been looking really hard for a calendar solution too, but I just don’t believe that the document tree is a user friendly approach for managing a calendar.

Here’s a demo I’m working on. Pretty ugly but hopefully you get the idea: http://bit.ly/bkQJ5V
Next is to implement the unpublish part, going to try - http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,36558.0/topicseen.html

It’s not perfect or elegant but it would work for a simple case use.

Google Calendar. You can communicate with it via a Zend-based API. I use it for an online booking system that I put together for a client.

Do you use Google to render the calendar, or do you do it yourself?

I like Google’s UI for entering events and navigating the calendar, but Google’s rendering of the calendar itself is really annoying, IMO, and I’d love to see a MODx addon that would do a better job.

I have used Kalender, DittoCal and EasyEvents
I have settled with EasyEvents allthough it does
not have a large calendar feature... just a mini
one and a link listing to the event page...

I use it on another site for event announcements...
but I need some calendar to manage the MODx documents (don’t want to input anything via google.. everything must be in MODx).. :/

This seems very simple... hope to share this when you finish it wink
