Menu System

I installed the latest MODX with the Sample data. I found out how to do some basic Template edits, cool. I have the above Horizontal menu, Great! Love it! But is there away to have a vertical collapsing menu in the right side block that does the same thing?

Please remember that I ate a ton of paint chips as a kid because my Mom said they were good for me.

I have been playing with that, I can’t get the menu’s to work in SIDEBAR. It just shows a simple link. I have been dorking with MODx for a few days now and reading the Wiki. Everything seems to be simple and straightforward. I know I am missing something. Attached is a screenshot.

I think I see where I am getting confused. To make a simple menu in the right sidebar, I have to make chunks, snippets and template edits? I download the wayfinder.pdf am reading Wiki and still confused!
