Currently we are looking at replacing the cms for the www.costengineering.eu site with something better. It is currently run on Ektron CMS400, but that runs badly in this configuration.
Converting the site is not going to be very difficult, I would say. It is mostly plain text pages and a couple of forms. However, when we change the cms we also want to offer a personal download page to our clients where they are able to download their latest software updates. These updates are not the same for everyone. Every client has his own configuration, modules and number of registered users that define the file to be downloaded. So, we want to be able to manage files for users (for general files) and add specific files for users on demand.
So, what would our options be for Modx? Can it be done, or do we have to wait until Revolution is there? (When will that be final?) As I saw this statement in the roadmap:
Unified User and Security Model – Manager users and web users become simply users, manager user/document groups and web user/document groups simply become user and document groups.
