    MODx is brilliant.

Well i’ve been playing around with it now for a couple of weeks. I’ve found it to be really intuitive. I migrated a site from Typo3 and just did it! No need for any tutorials or learning any esoteric workings of the system just read bits of the documentation, wiki and "Bob’s guide" , and you’re there with nicely organized templates, snippets and chunks. And I added loads of functionality and administrative stuff (all in the front end with snippets).

    It’s great.

And i don’t think i’ve used it to its full potential yet, i’ve not used any plugins or modules, or developed any backend functionality yet. I’m hoping that will be as much a joy as the initial phase.

    Ciao
    Mike

Hi! I agreed it’s brilliant!. I’ve started using MODx without any knowledge of using CMS at all. After 3 weeks or more I understand the most of it’s features and migrate few my friend’s projects to MODx without any problems!

          Right on.

When I initially joined MODx, I was using CMS made simple. I also tried Joomla and a few others, but the reason MODx is the next big thing is because, I tell it how I want my site to look like, without learning any new language.

Best of all, the forums and the team behind the box.

          Welcome

I agree, MODx is definitely unique and brilliant. I have been exploring it more and more, and my impression is that it’s not a cookie cutter solution, it’s definitely not one of the "install this and enable this and it works" kind of solutions, you need to know what you’re doing. That said, it’s not hard to learn and the flexibility it offers is astounding.

            Definitely digging it!

Thanks for the mention and welcome to MODx . . . but it’s Bob’s guides." Bob’s Guide is another site that traps and sedates potential visitors to my site. wink

It really is the best, I don’t think there is one thing I have tried to do with ModX that (eventually) I haven;t been able to find a snippet or piece of code to solve. To think my first choice was going to be Drupal - one look through their website put me right off! Keep up the good work and will contribute as much as I can to the forum!.
