    here’s my goal:

i’d like for my install on www.domain.com/subdirectory to look as though it’s running on www.domain.com

I’m able to redirect the domain.com to the subdirectory with .htaccess file but once i’m in the site all my friendly urls point to the full path of www.domain.com/subdirectory/home.html

So friendly urls are working, but not sure how to make it look as though i’m running on the root directory.

    any suggestions? thanks in advance.

You will want to change your preferences in the "httpd.conf" for the Document Root to the path of the subdirectory.

      My subdirectory is:

      DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs"

and I would change it to

      DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/subdirectory"

NOTE: You will also need to modify your ".htaccess" within your subdirectory.

        My subdirectory is modx

        Example:

        Before
        RewriteBase /

        After
        RewriteBase /modx
