I’ve built and tested an entire Modx site locally and have been trying to upload it to my server. Each time I’ve tried viewing it all I get is a page displaying nothing but:

    502 Bad Gateway
    nginx-catap/0.8.7.528.179136c

I then did a search and replace on my database to correct the local url to the websites url, but the problem was still there!

It’s quite urgent that I get the site live so I’m currently just uploading Modx and am going to re-install it then copy the files over. Does anyone know what might have caused this problem though?

As I could do with knowing how to avoid it in future!

    Thanks.

Looks like you’re deploying on nginx and not Apache? Did you do your local development in an nginx environment also?

Hmmm I have no idea to be honest? I’ve been testing it locally using XAMPP and have a Linux server if that helps?

XAMPP is Apache. It would appear your production server is nginx based on your initial post. Hopefully an nginx pro can chime in to help.

I think my answer here is late, but try to set correct database settings (user, db, password) in manager/includes/config.inc.php file.

I had the same problem, and editing config.inc.php worked for me.
