I’m finishing up a new website for a client, and they’d also like to have a blog. The site is on Evolution, and the blog will be done with WordPress.

I’m not trying to integrate WordPress into MODx or MODx into WordPress. My only goal is for the blog to look like the website. That’s pretty easily done by making a custom WordPress theme (which I’m learning how to do right now), but I’d like to be able to incorporate things like my menus that could change with having to go back and change the WordPress template file.

So what I’m asking is, can I somehow use the MODx API in my WordPress theme file (PHP) to get the output of a snippet/chunk? I’d like to do that for my navigation menu at least, and perhaps some other parts of the website. I’m quite familiar with MODx after months of using it (and loving it laugh), but I’m not too familiar with the API since I haven’t had to get my hands dirty with much actual programming in MODx, so I’m not sure if what I’m asking even makes sense.

I’ve Googled this and searched the forums here, but I can’t seem to find much on making MODx and WordPress work together.

    Thanks!
I'm learning more about MODx all the time and loving it.

maybe a starting point "including parsed modx elements inside WP theme" http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,34880.0.html and "Running Wordpress functions in MODx" http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=44791.0
