    Hi,

    Come across an odd one here.

    I installed Piwik onto the server and also the piwikX. Both work fine although I had to manually add the code to all the MODx pages. I’d prefer to use the regular Piwik dashboard to view the stats as it’s more detailed so I added a link to the Piwik Dashboard login page on the Manager Homepage using this tutorial

    http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Customizing_the_Manager_Homepage

    welcome.static.php has this code

    // setup dashboard variable
    $dashboard = $modx->getChunk('managerCode');

    And the chunk called ’managerCode’ has this

    <ul>
     <li><a target="blank" href="http://www.mywebsite.com/piwik"><strong>CLICK HERE TO LOGIN TO STATS</strong></a></li>
          </ul>

    It works and opens the Piwik login page in a new window but when I sign in the page loads and I’m looking at a duplicate of the MODx Content Manager but just the right hand side section/iframe that lists the tabs Recent Documents, Info, Online etc. No sign of the Piwik Dashboard. By chance I clicked on the browsers back button and then the Piwik Dashboard appeared. This happens in both IE8 and Firefox.

    I tried putting another link in the Manager Homepage but just to a regular website and it loads no problem in a new window so I’m thinking it has something to do with forms / login sessions.

    I see no reason why I would click on a custom link in the MODx Content Manager, open up a totally new login form and upon submitting my username and password into that form then get presented with a MODx Content Manager.

    Can anyone please put me put my misery as I’m totally stuck here?

    Many thanks and I look forward to any replies.

    Andrew

      I haven’t played with piwik at all. But wont the plugin CONFIG options
      let you log in? http://www.partout.info/piwik_modx.html

      // If you use MODx 1.X and newer, See this: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,37321.msg225591.html#msg225591
      and then just link the module page <a href="index.php?a=112&id=...

        Many thanks for your reply.

        yes, the plugin config file does let you login but you see minimal stat diagrams on the page and from what I can gather you have to work out the code to add more diagrams. It all just seems too complicated just to display stats and probably worse because I am so use to using Joomla. ( I took this MODx site over)

        Couldn’t solve the problem so switched to creating a new MODx page and adding the iframe code that Piwik supplies on their dashboard. Made it so the MODx page doesn’t display in a menu and then linked to it from the Manager Homepage.

        Bit of a brain ache but all works now smiley
