How difficult is it to use modx's registration and login with a forum script?

Hi,

I have a members only area where I use WebloginPE. I want a forum in the members only section and I want to use my modx database for the login/registering. I know there is an SMF forum integration plugin in the Extras section, however, it’s no longer supported by the creator and looking at it’s forum thread here, there are a lot of issues.

So, does anyone either know how to integrate a forum software with Modx OR does anyone know of a very simple forum script that I can use. The script doesn’t even have to have a login feature. I just want people logged into my members only section to be able to post messages. The simpler the better.

There is currently a forum addon being developed for modx but I haven’t got the link, have a search and you should find it.

Yeah, there’s something called "Discuss", but it says it’s for Revolution only. I’m using the most recent stable Evolution version of Modx.

The native addon is Discuss for MODx Revolution.

It’s still in alpha stage and you should maybe not expect a release before some month since the developper is entirely devoted to Revolution’s dev for now.

I don’t know any recent bridge for MODx Evolution and 3rd party forums.

I was afraid that was the case. Oh well. I don’t need a forum that bad.
