    MODX v1.0.2 - i created a template variable called "rightColumn", and then afterward created one called "clearColumns", and then one called "lefttColumn". they all apply to the same template. and work as intended - however now when you go to edit the document the page contents are in the following order (within the manager):
    content
    rightColumn
    clearColumns
    rightColumn

    functionally it is fine, but from a human-logic standpoint it should be:
    content
    leftColumn
    rightColumn
    clearColumns

    i can see it only being a matter of time before editors start putting stuff in the right column, thinking it’s the left, or in the clearColumns, because their brains think top to bottom, left to right.

    so is there a way i can change the order in which the tv’s are displayed in the manager? it seems they are just listed in order of creation. thanks!

      When editing a template, there is a tab for displaying a list of TVs assigned to that template with a link for changing their order.

        was about to find a work-around (which actually works better than what i initially wanted to do). using managermanager i applied the following rules:

        mm_createTab(’Columns’,’columnsManagerTab’);
        mm_moveFieldsToTab(’resource_content,twoColumnLeft,twoColumnRight,twoColumnClear’,’columnsManagerTab’);

        mm_createTab(’Callouts’,’calloutsManagerTab’);
        mm_moveFieldsToTab(’callout_1,callout_2,callout_3,callout_4,callout_5’,’calloutsManagerTab’);

        mm_createTab(’Additional’,’extrasManagerTab’);
        mm_moveFieldsToTab(’insertIntoHead,beforeContent,afterContent’,’extrasManagerTab’);
        mm_hideTabs(’extrasManagerTab’,’!1’);

        which moved all of my tvs into new tabs, which is really nice. i also hide the "Additional" tab from non-administrators, which will be helpful, because that tv is basically used to insert javascript, so i don’t want anyone else mucking with it.

            You can create a document group, assign a TV to it, and nobody except the main Admin users will see the TV. (I forget if it’s actually user #1 or users with role #1)
