    Hey guys,

I’m curious if anyone else has run into this problem:

I have a user that, after she saves a document, a large chunk of the Content field of that document goes unwritten to the database. Like, a couple hundred lines of HTML code get cut off towards the end of the document.

This is naturally very annoying. That content appears ’lost’ forever to the user, and it also predictably wrecks the page since it leaves dozens of unclosed HTML elements.

I haven’t been able to consistently recreate the issue, but it seems to be happening most frequently on a document with a relatively lengthy (1300+ line in HTML, about 60K worth of data) Content field. No other fields appear to getting truncated, and it’s only happening in one document.

I had considered that perhaps there’s a limit on how long the content field can be, but the content doesn’t get truncated every time, just sometimes. So I’m pretty baffled.

I really don’t think it’s a ModX issue, but I’m not sure where else to start.

Has anyone else ever run into a problem like this with long documents? Are there maybe some MySQL or other server settings I’m missing that could be causing this? Could TinyMCE have some kind of limit on field length?

We’re running PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.67 right now.

Any suggestions on what else I could start looking for would be appreciated.

See if there might be a non-ASCII character or symbol just after the truncation point (e.g. é ). I had a problem with text being truncated in the Manager at accented characters. I think it was probably a character encoding issue. I can’t think of anything else.
