    Hi all

    I have a new install of modx1.0.2

It is running on a linux box with apache and php5 running as a module database is mysql 4.1.22-Max-log

The Snippets like wayfinder are in the correct folder but are not appearing on the snippets list also they are not working so i have no main nav

edit: the only difference I can see with the install instructions is that the collation utf8_general_c was not available to me the modx installer screen suggested latin1_swedish_ci so i picked that so all my tables are using the collation latin1_swedish_ci while the default connection collation for the database is uft8_unicode_ci

Anybody else have a problem like this before?

    thanks

      Hi all,

      Solved this as follows
ftped the zip folder up to the site and unpacked it there.
      installed it as usual
during install on the database page I was given an option to select a collation I switched to names in the dropdown above the collation dropdown list so that worked

Created my own empty files called sitecache.idx.php and sitepublishing.idx.php and gave them the appropriate rights

after that everything seemed to go smoothly

then I saw that the pm foldewr in assets/snippets had not transfered over so I just FTPed those contents in

A few more of the snippets folders were empty too and I am transfering in those via ftp now

but the main take home message is that it seems to be working smoothly I am delighted as it looks like a lovely cms I am sure the client will be delighted

      regards,
