We have a client who needs a cms system with the following abilities
different user roles... this is for people who have access to the admin area of CMS so someone can have overall control ie main admin, then other people can just edit page content.. Now with the people who just have page editing rights, they SAVE the content but the overall admin person can proof read the content and then publishes this content.. so maybe it emails them or has messages on the system to tell the admin what content has changed
From what I can see this is possible, just wanted to clarify so as this is a very important feature for my client
Can it be setup so users with just page editing rights only see certain sections, ie simplyfy the admin layout for them and the administrator can see every section....
With editing the pages, is it possible that the basic editor access removes certain parts of the document setting, so literally when they click on a page it opens the document content and not the other more indepth details.. ie no meta keywords tab, and not having to click on edit?
Can it allow for blocks that are used throughout the site, ie they have a page say " ABout us" and they can edit that page and on the right side it has blocks that can also be seen on Contact Us, History... so by editing the block on the right it shows that content throughout.... then also have different blocks in different sections
is this all possible? or am i barking up the wrong tree?
Unless I missed something, it’s not available out of the box (correct me if I’m wrong),
but with the help of modules/snippets/plugins. Though, I can’t say if they’re available or you’ll have to code them.
You could go with Typo3, that would be good for your clients, but not good for you. Because their admin interface is close
to horrible and needs some serious sorting and cleaning (just my opinion), hence I am not even sure if it would save
you time compared to the first option.
