Hello,
Currently the input types in a Template Variable include the option URL. That gives the content-editor the option to include a URL and the protocol (http, https, etc).
But it would be convenient is there is also an input type called "Link" or "Internal Link".
There is an option to enter an image (which starts the popup box for images), a file (which start the popup box for files). Why not add the third option, the popup box for links.
Hope to find others with the same requirement.
Thanks,
Bert
if you don’t want the https/http options why not simple text field tv to be used for "Link"?
I think Bert is asking for having a popup with doc tree to click on the internal document, which then places link in [~xyz~] format.
Thats a nice thought, be sure to register it in JIRA as feature request.

MODx is great, but knowing how to use it well makes it perfect!

@ZI:
Yes, that’s exactly what I hav ein mind. I have workedaround it by letting the content manager enter a number. The number should be the document nummer. This number is read by the snippet and with a $modx->makeUrl the url is created.
But it would be nice to have a popup, just like the one you get when choosing Image as the input type.
I’ll put it in JIRA. Although it can’t be that hard to write it myself. But it would be nice if it is included in the official distribution.
@sinbad:
Ok, thanks. I will look into that.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but if you use a link tag [~nn~], (where nn is the document ID) MODx will make the link for you so you won’t need makeURL().
