I have just created a template variable (for the first time I might add), set it to be an image, hooked it up to my home page, got the image to show in the manager area, but only the path to the image appears in the frontend can anyone tell me why? I have created text template variables and they work fine.

Try setting the TV’s Widget parameter to Image
