      What are you using to create that email form? Is it a MODx document, a snippet (which one?) or what?

      We can’t really help you without knowing how that form is generated.

        [!NewsPublisher? &folder=`2` &canpost=`Site Admins` &formtpl=`FormBlog` &footertpl=`Comments` &makefolder=`1` &rtcontent=`tvblogContent`!]

        That is used for the add a blog entry page

        and ... .

        The following is used for the main blog page... which presents normal as seen www.artbroker.com/blog
        ----------------

        [[Ditto? &startID=`2` &removeChunk=`Comments`]]

        <div id="ditto_pages"> [+previous+] [+pages+] [+next+] </div>

        <div id="ditto_pages">&nbsp;</div>

        [[Reflect? &dittoSnippetParameters=`startID:2` &groupByYears=`0` &showItems=0` &tplMonth=`reflect_month_tpl`]]

        But the modx generated page when a blog is posted such as the first blog page on http://www.artbroker.com/article-1262278668

        the following is generated
        -----------------

        test. <strong>test. <em>test. test. test...</em></strong>
        {{Comments}}

        so whatever {{Comments}} is and however it is created and whatever formats it is my main dilemma.

        what makes it worse is that when I see it in the preview page in modx it is perfectly fine and only has a subject and comment section and no section for Name: and Email: ... so I don’t know what makes it change when it is viewed outside of modx ...

          Go to Elements | Manage Elements | Chunks | Comments. That should be your comment form.

            <div id="commentsAnchor">
            [!Jot? &captcha=`2` &moderated=`1` &customfields=`name,email` &validate=`name:Please enter your name, email:Please enter a valid e-mail address.:email`&subscribe=`1` &pagination=`5` &badwords=`dotNet` &canmoderate=`Site Admins` !]
            </div>

            That is what exists there, there is no html formatting here, btw I have 0.9.6 of modx ...

            If I must update to make this work I can, I just am afraid I have done so much to the files to trust the formatting of a new version, even though I have my own templates, it just concerns me, however I know people upgrade with much larger websites than this one...

            can I add css to this specific "comments" section held under chunks?

            or does "customfields" where ever THAT is located need edited?

              Take a look at:

              assets/snippets/jot/templates/chunk.form.inc.html

              Probably the best thing to do is to create a new chunk called "JotForm" and copy the contents of the file above into it.

              Then add this parameter to the Jot call you quote in the previous message:

              &tplForm=`JotForm`

              That way Jot will use your chunk for the HTML instead of the file.

              Then you can modify that chunk to do what you want or modify your site’s CSS file to change its look.

                You can fix it with CSS by adding clear:left; to the label elements.

                You can either add it to your own CSS rules or add it to the Jot CSS file in /assets/snippets/jot/templates/jot.css
                .jot-form label {display: block;clear: left;}
