500 internal server error in IE [Resolved]

http://www.moorelapidary.com/

I’m able to view all pages and the site works fine in Chrome, FF, Safari, and Opera(all latest versions) EXCEPT IE8

I HATE THIS !@#$ing BROWSER!

When I pull up the site in IE8, the page loads almost completely before giving me the 500 internal server error.

I have friendly URL’s enabled.

I’m using MODx 0.9.6.3 because this POS server I’m on wont load the modx 1.0.2 manager. Somekind of ass-kicking error there too.

I’ve spent so much time on this now, the client probably thinks I’m a retard. Maybe I am. I’m going to pound my head against the wall some more...

It should be related with javascript.
Try disable this one:

<script type="text/javascript">
  var newKai;
  function vc_kai(url,width,height) {
  newKai = window.open(url, "ItemImage","toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,location=no,width="+width+",height="+height);
  }
</script>

FYI,
it occurs with all IE versions.

Not sure if Goldsky’s solution is correct since it happens on the return policy page that doesnt have that bit of code included.

There is this article that shows how to set IE to show the entire error with the code that causes it, this may help pinpoint the problem:

I think the problem has been solved....

in styles.css there is this line...
img, div, a {
behavior: url(iepngfix.htc)
}

That line apparently IE doesn’t like

I commented it out, and that did the trick.

If I had built this site from scratch I probably would have known to check that...but since I’m only the modx integrator...I had to spend 3 hours fixing it. STUPID IE!!! GOSH!

Uh?
That’s odd.
I’m using that’s file too, and no problem with me.
Did you check that the file exists in the [root] folder?

You’re lucky you only spent 3 hours.
Last week I spent 3 days day and night to fix IE’s bonehead habit.

Actually no, I didn’t check if it was in the root. I guess the part that baffles me is that it worked outside of ModX.

One of the posts recommended that I turn off friendly Http headers in the IE advanced tab. I did that and I would watch as IE loaded 45ish items, 1 per second, down until it hit zero at which time it would give me the 500 internal server error.
