    Is there an easy way to set it so the template used will change if viewed by different browsers and browser versions? ie. maintemplate.tpl used for FireFox browsers, maintemplate_ie5.tpl used for IE 5 etc

      do you want modx to load a different template? or would you rather just load a different stylesheet??

      i have no idea about getting modx to load a new template, but i would think your template would be the same, having the same html layout regardless of browser, but then you’d alter it’s appearance with css. if that solution works for you, then you can use:

      <!--[if lte IE 6]>
      <![endif]-->

      type tags to load different stylesheets for certain browser situations. does that help at all?

        Thanks Slush Puppy but no... I already have different css to deal with IE differences.
        What I’m trying to do is use a swf menu which works on all browsers except IE5 and some phone browsers so I wanted to know if there is a way for the template to change to an IE or phone template (ie. no swf) if the system picks up the browser type... like the [if IE 5]command for the css.
