[HELP] Integrating system in modx

Hello guys,

I’m currently building a website for a company which sells machines n stuff. They currently have a working system which is nice to add newsletters, short news and products. So i want to keep this in modx. I have idea’s of how it should be, but now how i get that to work, maybe someone out here can help me a little?

Here’s the idea:

Current website;
Front-side

Newsletters + Short news


Machines


When clicking a specific machine


Back-End
Newsletters/Short news


Adding newsletter


Add product


So, i think i need to make a new module, and in there place the back-end part of those files?
Then for front end i think i need to make TV’s? Can someone tell me how i have to do it and maybe
give me a little code that i could put? If u need the code of some files just tell me. I have the feeling it’s really easy.. but i dont know how

Then also i guess there need to be added some database fields/tables? is that possible in the modx manager somewhere?

Is this only for the MODx Revolution or for the Evolution aswell? (like 1.0.2 like i have)

That’s only for MODx Revolution.

You would need a page per product under the appropriate category, in your case a document/page for Manter Clipper ( and all the products like so).

Use Ditto to show your product pages, template them as you like.

The front-end display of Newsletter and Short News also could be done with a Ditto call.

On the back-end:
you need a document for each product, each newsletter (TV) and each Short News.

For multilingual entry of content you need YAMS.

So, the old system is useless and not possible to import and i need to write
a whole new script for this in modx?
