I want to restrict a "Manager User" so that they can only upload to a certain directory.

    Is this possible?

At the moment if I create a "Manager User" they have access to all the files via "Manage Files" (apart from the Manager folder). I want to be able to control this further to restrict the damage they could do.

There are some options when you create a user: "File Manager path", "File base path" and "File Browser URL" but these all seem to be for dealing with IIS problems, rather than configuring "Manager User" permissions.

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mike

In the Configuration, the File Manager tab sets the global path for file manager access. The path and URL in the Interface and Features tab are for the resource browser used in TVs and in the rich text editor. These three are usually correctly calculated at installation, although as they say, under certain circumstances they may need to be edited manually.

To set user-specific access, edit the user in Security -> Manager Users, the User tab. By default, the global settings in the Configuration will be used. The user can be limited to specific directories (and their subdirectories) for the file manager (the File Manager Path field) and for the resource browser (File base path and File Browser URL).

I had tried that and it didn’t work, but I was getting confused with the different paths involved:
File Manager Path: needs to be the base path from the server root eg /home/user/public_html/blah-blah/assets/myUsersFolder
File base path: same as above
File Browser URL: needs to be the path from the web root eg: assets/myUsersFolder

So i’ve got it working now, thanks for your help smiley

        Thanks
