    Hi,

    This is my first post so here is the usual ’apologies for asking what is probably a silly question’ wink

    I have been successfully using MODx (v1.0.0) on my WAMPServer for some months now. I have WAMPServer 2.0b (Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.3.0, MySQL 5.1.36).

    However, when I try to use MyPHPAdmin (http://localhost/phpmyadmin/) I get the following error:

    Error

    MySQL said: Documentation
    #1045 - Access denied for user ’root’@’localhost’ (using password: NO)

    phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

    I seem to remember when setting up MODx that it required me to specify a password for accessing MySQL. This password works when I connect to MySQL via the MySQL console.

    I suspect I need alter the php configuration but I’m a newbie in that area so any tips would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Colin

      You need to configure your phpMyAdmin. That has nothing at all to do with MODx.

        Hi,

        I found the solution myself half an hour later embarrassed

        As Susan said, I did need to tweak my PHP config. I had found some suggestions but just wasn’t sure which config.inc.php file to use. After posting, found info saying it was this file:

        C:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin3.2.0.1\config.inc.php

        And it needed the line:

        $cfg[’Servers’][$i][’password’] = ’somePassword’;

        Thanks,
