    Hey guys,

I have been eyeing out modx for awhile and today I took the plunge, ripped open the package and I’am on my way to building my first modx cms enabled site.

Have to say I’am pretty happy and in honest truth, I probably should have tried it sooner. It feels pretty right. smiley

Now, I have a question on whether I can accomplish something similar in modx as in expressionengine and since I’m nowhere near a guru yet. I thought I’d make a quick post to what you guys think.

The current website that I’am working on for a client. Requires a facility that would allow the client to upload three images, have them resize and link within a jquery rollover/transition.

There will be multiple entries (project description/images), under a few different categories.

I was thinking that I would create (keep in mind I’m a modx noob) three different TVs? template variables, have the client upload the images, resize them, have them place the filenames in the template variables and dynamically create some sort of link using the filenames provided.

In expressionengine I would have created a bunch of custom fields and have the upload files links automatically appear in each relevant field, instead of having the customer enter in the file names manually.

Now sure if thats possible straight out of the box in modx.

I doubt my way is the most straight forward, so I’d like to know if theres a better way. Is there a way to automatically generate links into template variable that I can use in a jquery script?

Any help is much much appreciated and modx ROCKS \o/!! Haha.

It’s easier than that. Just create 3 TVs of type ’image’ for your template; image TVs are a form control which launches the resource browser.

There is a resize snippet (phpthumb?) that will dynamically resize and cache your images on the fly; use this in your template.
