I’m evaluating MODx and Drupal, and am somewhat put-off by the number of queries Drupal seems to need to make to display even the simplest of pages, is there some sort of plugin that outputs (or logs) the queries like the Devel module in Drupal?

I found the answer, go into the code and change dump_sql to true.
