question about GNU licensing for snippets

    hello all,

    i’m a bit fuzzy on the details of the GNU licensing, specifically for the snippet MaxiGallery... it’s a GPL license. is it ok to use something like that for photo galleries on a website for an educational institution?

      The GPL only applies to distributing changes you make to free software. If you make changes and start distributing your version without providing those changes back to the original author( s ), only then does the GPL apply.
