    Hi,

Am trying to get Friendly URLs working, and I’m not getting any joy. I’ve followed the wiki post and documentation to the letter - the .htaccess file is perfect and I’ve tried all the options, the Apache httpd.conf is as it should be, and the MODx settings are turned on and are just basic. Yet the only result I can get is with a prefix to the alias (index.php?page=...), but even though this changes the links on the page, when I click on the link the browser doesn’t go to that page. It just stays on the same page.

    Has anyone got any clues?

      Couple things to check:
Make sure your hosting company allows friendly URLs (mine doesn’t, I had the same issue)
Make sure you have the name you want to display in the URL alias field
Make sure you have friendly URLs turned on in the site configuration menu
        Teaching myself MODx

This is hosted locally using MAMP. The names are in the alias field, and the FURLs are turned on.

Is mod_rewrite enabled in MAMP? Sometimes that gives me trouble on Wampserver, might be the same issue on your MAMP.

Hi, Yeah I’ve checked the httpd.conf, and mod_rewrite is enabled as per the instructions at the Wiki.
