Soooooo. I’m new to MODx (surprise) and I’m in the verge of mental insanity. I tried to look this problem up, but it’s kind of hard when I don’t actually even know what the problem is if you know what I mean.

I’ve decided to publish content in my site with "Article" template, which for I have created two template variables; topImage, thumbnailImage (I’m bad at naming anything). All of these "Articles" can bee seen on their parent page (which is named "FunStuff") and I have called them there using Ditto. I’ve managed to get the introtext, read more, date etc. to all the different article previews, but when I try to add "thumbnailImage" it fails miserably (of course, because the TV is template specific - > it should show the "thubnailImage" for "FunnStuff" page which template thumbnailImage TV hasn’t even been assigned for). The question is: how can I get the thumbnailImage to show. Do I need a new plug in for that/hack/or have I just missed something.

I tried as stupid solution as just putting the necessary code into the summary field, but I didn’t have much success with that laugh I’m quite desperate with this.

      Hi JX3,

      welcome to MODx smiley

      ...just guessing

since you pull the articles on the parent page using Ditto, your TV "thumbnailImage" needs to be placed in your Ditto-Template Chunk...and instead of [*thumbnailImage*] (which you would use on the article page itself) it should look like this in the Template Chunk: [+thumbnailImage+]
