    I have created a navigation menu in Chunks as per code below:

    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0">
      <tr>
        <td><img src="images/home_rounded.png" height="110" alt="home" /></td>
        <td><img src="images/heating_rounded.png" height="110" alt="heating" /></td>
        <td><img src="images/plumbing_rounded.png" height="110" alt="plumbing" /></td>
        <td><img src="images/bathroom_rounded.png" height="110" alt="bathroom" /></td>
        <td><img src="images/family_rounded.png" height="110" alt="heating spares" /></td>
        <td><img src="images/branches_rounded.png" height="110" alt="branches" /></td>
        <td><img src="images/contact_rounded.png" height="110" alt="contact us" /></td>
      </tr>
      </table>

      <div id="myslidemenu" class="jqueryslidemenu">
      <ul>
        <li class="home"><a href="index.htm">Home</a></li>
        <li class="heating"><a href="#">Heating</a>
        <ul>
        	<li><a href="#">Boilers</a></li>
        	<li><a href="#">Radiators</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Controls</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Hot Water</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Fires</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Water Treatment</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Fan Convectors</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Fittings</a></li>
        </ul>
        </li>
        <li class="plumbing"><a href="#">Plumbing</a>
        	<ul>
            <li><a href="#">Plastic</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Cold Water Storage</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Fittings & Valves</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Pumps</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Water Softeners</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Tools</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Fixings</a></li>
            </ul>
            </li>
        <li class="bathroom"><a href="#">Bathroom</a></li>
        <li class="spares"><a href="#">Heating Spares</a></li>
        <li class="branches"><a href="#">Branches</a></li>
        <li class="contactus"><a href="#">Contact Us</a></li>
        </ul>
         </div>

    The menu is a CSS/JQuery based menu and references a CSS stylesheet and Javascript files. The menu seems to work fine in Firefox, Chrome, Opera and IE8 but for some reason in IE7 the submenu is appearing below the main content that appears in the page itself. I have set the z-index of the menu to 1000 and the text box to 1 but still no joy.

    Any ideas? huh

        I’ve solved the issue now thanks to this link http://www.cjboco.com/post.cfm/css-pulldown-menu-displays-behind-an-element-or-picture-in-ie7.

        Although I had set a z-index on the jqueryslidemenu CSS I also needed to set a low z-index on the containing DIVs CSS.
