Adding fields to resources admin

Hi all, I hope I’ve got the correct section for this post. I’ve done a bit of a search and can’t really find what I’m looking for. Sorry if this has been covered before.

I want to add some fields to the admin area for resources. For example I’d like to add a price, product code and brand field. What is the standard way to do this? I think I could use TVs or maybe there is a snippet.

Any thoughts on the best way to do this?

Add them as individual TV’s and assign them to the "product" template.
Each new page you create using the "product" template will have your "price, product code and brand" TV’s available
