Hello, I’m fairly new to both MODx and PHP and I have a question about automatic php page creation.

I’m wondering if anyone can describe the process the MODx back-end manager uses to create a page, or point me in the direction of a resource that could describe it to me. Hopefully with that knowledge I’ll be able to rig up a function php page creation form.

Another question I have is where in the directory are the actual pages saved to? I’m curious because I’m wondering if creating a page with the correct parameters in the same directory would be sufficient to get ditto to pickup the pages.

So far I enjoy the CMS a lot. I’ve never liked the constriction of other CMS’s I’ve used in the past.

      Why not use the Manager?
where in the directory are the actual pages saved to
They’re not in the folder structure but in the database

I want to create a form that users can submit data into and create pages from, with said data as the content, that can then be accessed by ditto or some other search/list function.

If I’m going about that the wrong way I wouldn’t mind a heads up.

So basically, I just need to direct a script to add the page information to the database and set up the template variables all in one then.

        Sounds simple enough.
