Revo: How can I restrict a page to logged-in users only?

I’m having a hard time figuring out how to restrict a page to logged-in users only with the new security model.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I’ll get a tutorial out on this shortly, but the gist of it is:

1. Create a Resource Group (for example, RG1)
2. Create a User Group (UG1)
3. Add users you want to have access to user group. make sure they have a Role in the group with an authority level number lower (ie, more powerful) than you’ll specify in Minimum Role later in the user group.
4. Add Context Access to user group - say: context: ’web’, minimum role: ’Member’ (9999 authority), Access Policy ’Resource’
5. Add a Resource Access ACL to user group: Resource Group RG1, Context: ’web’, minimum role: ’Member’ (9999 authority), Access Policy ’Resource’

And that’ll work.

I’ve tried and tried and simply cannot get this to work in Revo Beta 4.

What’s happening when you try it? Pages show for all users? Pages show for no users? Or what?

Also, when you test it, it helps to use another browser to look at the front end so you’re sure MODx isn’t seeing you as an admin user.

So, I assume the same steps work for you guys?

When I try it, the page isn’t accessible to anyone. Not admin, not the user (user1) who was put into the user group (UG1).

I’ve used two different browsers, logging in as admin in one, and user1 in the other.

I will work on setting up a public Revo installation, and try again. If it is doing the same thing, I’ll PM you guys the admin password. Is that cool?

Can someone verify for me that this works properly?

Damn It’s taking me ages to get my head around this stuff.

I’ve followed the instructions above but I get Bo allen’s result:
Page is not accessible to anyone.

Make sure you flush permissions before testing. Is the user logging in successfully in the front end, using the Login snippet before going to the page?
