why can't i see my pages?

before i re-install everything again, i thought i’d see if anyone has had this problem before. it’s probably something really simple as i’ve not had a problem installing with other sites ...

i installed modx and went through everything and i can log on with the manager and make pages etc. but when i go to view a page it’s just showing the default host’s holding page.

any ideas?

You probably have a file called index.html in your root directory. Delete this from your server (but back it up, just in case).

You should now see your pages as per usual.

hmm it wasn’t actually the index.html there, but the index.php was still the old one! i’d clearly just forgotten to upload. thanks for making me look in the right place anyway. simple error. long day!
