Hey guys, I really need some help with this, and I’m at a loss for what to try.
I’ve installed and configured modx on a Godaddy Virtual Server running MS Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6 and PHP 5.2.6.
Pretty much everything works fine, EXCEPT that for some reason, when I visit my site in Internet Explorer (any version) the home page loads fine (index.php?id=1) but any other pages give me a ’page cannot be found’. In firefox all the pages load fine, but in IE I can never get any page to load other than the home page.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
I forgot to mention, I’m using Evolution I believe (my admin panel says 1.01)
Also I just noticed something, the problem does occur in Firefox also, but in a different manner.
Basically, if I go to my site everything works fine right? I can view the different pages etc... but then if I clear my browser cache, and try to browse to pages other than the home page, I start getting "Page not found" even in Firefox. Then if I go into the admin panel and ’clear cache’, everything starts working again.
But if I clear my browser cache, it breaks again :\
It’s a mysterious problem that I am desperate to resolve, so any help would be tremendously appreciated.
Ok I think I’m narrowing it down.
I just noticed that it’s not a browser related issue at all, the behavior is actually the same in either FF or IE.
What I did find out however, is that when I go to my site, only the home page will load, the other pages all say ’cannot be found’. However if I log in to the admin area, and then attempt to browse the site, everything works fine, until I close my browser and come back later.
Very strange. Why would my pages not work unless I’m logged into admin?
