I have one revised site that I have upgraded to MODx 1.0.0.

When I use the TinyMCE or a TV with the Input Type set to Image the actual image loader does not work? I get the usual upload image chooser and I can select the image I want from the desktop and see it in the Que. When I hit the actual upload button I get a message saying "failed to upload - internal error."

The other odd thing is that when I am in the upload window I do not see any of my images in the Images folder during the process. I did upload all the images into the assets/images folder with my FTP program.

Any ideas on how to get my image loader working?

    Thanks!

Check the permissions on your assets/images/ folder.
      Make sure its 777.

        It is 777.

        Thanks.

        Any other ideas?

Why are none of my pictures showing up in the images folder when I go through the image upload process. I have a whole bunch of images contained within the asset/images folder, including the default logo.png file.

I changed the permissions for the images folder to 777 and still get the "internal error". I also have 777 on the actual images folder itself.

I really need to get this to work...

Depending on your server installation it might be that the webserver and the ftpserver running under different user accounts.
If so, when you upload a file via ftp, the file belongs to the ftp user and the webserver user might not be able to write to that file.
A similar situation can be given in respect to folders as well.

File system permission problems are a little tricky ’cause every server setup may differ.

Try creating folders thru the manager and uploading files in that folders thru the manager and see if that works.

I will give that a try.

The images that are in my assets/images folder are displaying on my site OK. Its just that the images folder does not display any images within the images folder during the image upload process when editing pages.

OK: I tried to add a folder during the image upload process from the manager. I tried creating an assets/images/books folder but I got the message saying I do not have permission to do so?

I wonder if I need to contact the host?

When accessing the folders containing the images MODx tries to read them and then to create thumbnails of them (in the same folder, prefixed with ".thumb_").
If it don’t have write permissions to the folder the creation of the thumbs fails an you don’t get a preview of the image in the filebrowser.

To figure out, if it’s possible to get it going, try to upload a file to the assets/images/ folder (NOT in a subfolder) via the filebrowser.
If this fails, the permissions for the assets/images/ folder need to be corrected ’cause permissions usually are inherited to the childs.

If you can upload a picture to assets/images/, try making a subfolder via the filebrowser and test with that folder the same way.

                Good luck!

If your not seeing the images its usually because the File base path is not set correctly.
Make sure this is a direct patch to your assets folder from the root.

Make sure the File Browser URL is correct also.

I am assuming this is done via the File Manager in the Configuration pane? What should this path look like?

                    Thanks!

                      Success!

Thanks guys. That did the trick!

I did some comparisons between another site on a different server and this problematic site. I found that on the Interface & Features pane on the Configuration section the File base path just had "assets" in the window. I then copied all the path links from the File Manager path and pasted it in front of "assets" in the File base path and it now works.

Actually at the bottom of the File base path window there is a notice that most server installs will fill this out automatically. I never had an issue with this kind of thing before. It needed to be added manually. But it works now.

I appreciate the help. The fact that none of the images were being displayed during the upload process was the real indicator here I guess...
