What cart/checkout options are people integrating with MODx? The website is for a magazine publisher that will be selling both books and subscriptions to their print and online edition magazines. I figure I can generate a more robust bookstore if I do it in MODx. For instance, I want logged in web users to be able to rate and review items.

What are my options for the cart/checkout process that will fit with my site and not require any additional log in credentials from the web users. It doesn’t matter if the solution is open, paid, or annual subscription priced. I’m just looking for a way to get this to work.

I’ve seen people mention CubeCart and osCommerce elsewhere on the forum. osCommerece seems to be a whole system and I assume I only really need the cart/checkout part. The company has a merchant account, so I could possibly use CubeCart if it is going to integrate well with MODx. Any other/better ideas?

Foxy Cart does have a specific section on their website about integration with MODx. However, I talked with them yesterday and they don’t really meet our needs.

Our circulation manager is interested in (or requires) the new system to do things like: generating shipping labels and receipts directly from the interface, pre-calculated shipping, tracking orders, notifying customers via email when orders have been shipped, keeping up with inventory, etc.

She also wants users to be able to login and manage their subscriptions, such as changing billing and shipping info. We may have to buy a separate system for one or more of these things, but to the greatest extend possible, I want this to look and feel like one seamless site.

          Hi there,

There have been several attempts made to build a comprehensive catalog and cart system for MODx, but most have run out of steam.

Kiwee Commerce - Is a whole addition to the back-end. I found it hard to install and had to do a lot of hacking to get it to work. It has not been worked on in a while.
MODx Warehouse - There was some work done on this but it has stopped.
Treasure Chest - Simple and good for a small cart

          Best of luck smiley

Does someone have more information about this one?

It really seemed promising and I’m really sorry that the project didn’t go on.
