Ok.. I have created a site for a friend of mine using Modx and have done some previous to this.
However with this user i came across a little problem.
Basically there is a NEWS page that has a bit of text and then a ditto call for all the news snippets.
I want the user to still edit the content above the ditto call but somehow have him not able to delete or change the ditto call. Previously he deleted the Ditto call which was all setup as he wasnt sure what it was and it took me a while to figure out all the parameters i had placed within it.
I thought about putting the ditto call in a chunk and calling the chunk,and also creating seperate templates for pages with a ditto call, but there must be a far more efficient user friendly way of implementing this?
creating a chunk for your ditto-call is a good idea.
Additionally you can create a checkbox-TV name it for example dittochunkTV with something like in option-values:
show ditto chunk=={{dittochunk}}
don_t forget to assign this TV to your Template
In your Template put
[*content*]
[*dittochunkTV*]
Now, if you check these checkbox the chunk with your ditto-call is parsed in this page.
