i setup a couple manager users who have permissions to basically only edit resources. when logged in as one of them, when you click the "duplicate" button, to duplicate a page you get the message:

"Are you sure you want to duplicate this Resource? Any item(s) it contains will also be duplicated.
    OK Cancel"

then after clicking "OK", you get the following error:

    "Access permissions
You do not have the correct permissions for this Resource."

i see nothing in the role permissions to give permission for duplicating, and the user has permission to edit and save the file they are trying to duplicate, and they have permission to create resources.

are non-administrators not allowed to duplicate? or am i missing something simple? the user’s have these permissions (under "Content management"):

    X Content management
    X View a Resource’s data
    X Create new Resources
    X Edit a Resource
    X Save Resources
    X Publish Resources
    X Delete Resources
    _ Permanently purge deleted Resources
_ Edit Resource META tags and keywords
    X Empty the site’s cache
    X View Unpublished Resources

Is this a root-level document? Check your configuration under the User tab. The second option, Allow Root, determines if non-Admin users can create documents in the top level.

I’m using v1.0.0 and am wondering where the option to check "root access" is?

Check your configuration under the User tab. The second option, Allow Root, determines if non-Admin users can create documents in the top level.

I checked under the "user tab" but couldn’t find anything along the lines of "allow root"

          any pointers please

          thanks smiley

Just in case someone has a moment of weakness (like me as well):

Tools (tab) > Configuration > User > Allow Root
