So I’ve been playing around with ditto for hours now trying to get pagination to work.
    I have the following pages:
    - story (id 66)
    - chapter one (id 70)

Naturally, with a page that displays an entire chapter of a novel, I want to implement pagination. Basically I’m pretty sure I’m using it incorrectly.
This is what I have on id 70...

    [!Ditto? &parents=`70` &display=`5` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`my_blog_comments` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags`!]

    Showing [+start+] - [+stop+] of [+total+] Articles

    [+previous+] [+pages+] [+next+]

INSERT THE TEXT OUT OF CHAPTER HERE
    [+previous+] [+pages+] [+next+]

    {{comments}}

    Am I doing this correctly...?

Ok, so I have a temporary solution (looks like its gonna be another one of those things in modx that I can’t do the way I desire... embarrassed)

On the Chapter one page I have the following code
      [!Ditto? &display=`1` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`novel_template` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags` &sortdir=`DESC`!]

      Showing [+start+] - [+stop+] of [+total+] Articles

      [+previous+] [+pages+] [+next+]

under chapter one i have the adding "articles", which basically the above ditto is displaying as straight text (with help from my tpl). This way I am forced to split the novel’s pages into seperate articles (whereas I wanted to create one huge article with some splitter call at appropriate points)

The "Articles" I have are called
      -part 1
      -part 2
      - etc...

However, my newest problem is I can’t get the first "pagination page" of chapter one to be part 1 (which was created first)...
      How do I get this??

          Sharkbait,
Thanks but I tried that... couldn’t get it to work at the time. I’ll play around with that in the next few days (as I solved the immedate emergency).

          My solution
          [!Ditto? &display=`1` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`novel_template` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags` &orderBy=`menuindex ASC`!]

          Showing [+start+] - [+stop+] of [+total+] Articles

          [+previous+] [+pages+] [+next+]

My bad for not realizing that orderBy and sortBy were case sensitive.

          THIS IS NOW SOLVED

I wish everyone else luck with their codes.
