MODx would be perfect for creating a site like the one in the link (and it would be a nightmare in WordPress, IMO).
One key question is whether, unlike the one in the link, the site needs a fully tricked-out blog. That’s easy in WordPress and doable (but not so easy) in MODx.
As 4hero writes, it’s very easy to do that in MODx, even when using a single Template for the whole site. There are a number of ways to do it.
Another one would be to create a mini CSS file for each page style and use a Template Variable on each page to specify the path to one to be used for that page. Or the CSS could go in separate chunks and be pulled in with @CHUNK in a Template Variable. Or a snippet could check the value of a Template Variable and insert the correct CSS, either directly, or from files.
Thanks for the help, if MODx can accomodate that then this will be the cms I use. It sounds like there are some things to learn to implement those pages.
He doesn’t need blogging with comments, he just needs to change info and media on pages, it’s all info going out one-way except for sales.

If you have any trouble, ask in the Forums and we can give you more explicit instructions.

That’s fairly straightforward unless you need to archive them. Just put every event or blog post on its own page. It’s easy to set future publication dates for each one if you need that.
