We’re still using modx 0.95 rev 2106 ..
is there an upgrade required or is it safe to carry on with that version?

Also add-on’s and 3rd party apps probably needs a over haul!

It’s not required as far as I know, but it’s highly recommended. As mrhaw noted you will need to upgrade a few snippet calls, but it shouldn’t be too hard to update things. If you need any help speak up.

When 1.0.1 is released later this week I would personally consider it a mandatory requirement (for any version, really).
