The nightmare that almost never ended is almost over.
http://www.chess.co.uk/twic/
is the website that I’ve working on for nearly ever. I’m pretty pleased with the outcome.
I have a number of remaining issues.
The first I’m sure is fairly simple. I use the date picker to produce a custom date for the articles. If I open the article it has the right time. But the summary page has the time many hours before and the date is displayed as EDT (which is about right for the difference of the times) I’m pretty sure this is being changed within Modx but can’t find for the life of me where the time is being changed, the server time seems right, I tried adding something to the .htaccess file. Can anyone suggest where Modx is getting the idea that the time needs to be change?
TinyMCE doesn’t work, didn’t notice this for a while so this obviously isn’t a huge issue for me.
If I use the CMS to create a directory to put an image in, it can’t then write to it.
I’m so relieved the thing is doing the job I can live with the latter two issues but the time zone issue is just bizarre. I don’t think its releated to
"PHP 5.3 requires a timezone setting. There are several possible fixes (use the appropriate timezone for your location). The list of possible settings is here.
Put something like this in your php.ini file:
date.timezone = "America/Chicago"
If you don’t have access to php.ini, you can try adding this to your .htaccess file:
php_value date.timezone America/Chicago"
and I changed server offset to zero as it is at the right time. Is there a configuration file somewhere I’m missing?
Anyhow the actual site is working great. I only hope that as I put more stories in editing the tree doesn’t come too unwieldy.
