    Should be simple solve this, but I can’t find a way.

    I have a page with video on it. The low resolution video is shown via a pop up using the MadBoxr plugin. But I also provide an alternative link to download the 720p HD version of the video which is stored in assets/hd-video.

    I tried creating a direct link to the file, but ModX kept returning me to the site homepage. If I tried right clicking to download the file I was told that the file couldn’t be found. I have checked, double checked, triple checked and quadruple checked and more that the file paths and filenames are correct!

    I also tried creating a weblink to the file. Again the same results as above happened. What on earth could I be doing wrong?

      You probably have your error page set to the home page (it’s the default) so you end up there any time a file is not found.

      Try adding this to the top of your template (if it’s not there already):

      <base href="[(site_url)]" />

      If it is there already, do a "view source" in your browser and look at the actual link to the file. Try pasting that link into a browser’s address window and see if you get the file.

      If you’re still stumped, post the code in MODx that creates the link. We might notice something you’ve missed. smiley

        I second Bob... how is the link to this file being rendered? E.g.
        <a href="/assets/filename.mov">File Name</a>

        Can you cut and paste the path to the video into your browser and hit the file directly?
