    Hi,

I’ve built and tested my Modx site on my local machine, however, after installing it online I’m not able to login. It keeps saying wrong password and the "forgot password" doesn’t work, I tried to install it 3 times already in different Databases.

I received a warning during installation: "Checking if Register_Globals is off: FAILED" - can that be causing the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

It’s not clear the steps you took to transfer the site to the remote server. I assume when you say "after installing it online" you mean you ran the "upgrade" option of the installer?

Probably not, but is concerning as this is a very unsafe PHP configuration option that can lead to your site being hacked if you install an unsafe Add-On or are not meticulous about securing your files. Even other accounts on the same server being hacked (because they have unsafe scripts installed) could leave you vulnerable, assuming this is a shared server environment.

I’ve made the download (modx 1.0) and upload everything to the server, I made a new correct installation (3 to be precise). The problem is that I just can’t login.. on the first time it was always saying "wrong password" but now it does nothing.

Can’t figure out why this is happening.

        [EDIT]

On my main page I see the following error: MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:

It appears your PHP sessions are not configured properly on the server.

Thank you for your help smiley

They have updated the session path on my account. It’s all working now.

            Kind regards

Afterall, the issue is intercalating. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

I’m able to login but Modx stucks on "http://.../manager/" address and if I use "http://.../manager/index.php/" I’m able to login to my manager page.

The PHP session path is set correctly and the previous errors are gone. But this weird issue persists.

Another issue I notice is that when I make any change under Tools > Configurations, it saves and throws me to the login area

              Any ideas?

You will get kicked out of the Manager and thrown to the login page any time the session is flushed. I can’t think of why this would happen just from using the Tools menu.

I wonder if a file might have been corrupted during the upload or if the new machine has memory_limit set too low so the installation didn’t quite work.

It is a possibility. I will try to talk with the support once again.

                  Thank you

                    Hi,

The memory_limit was set to 18MB and I changed it to 32MB (Maximum limit).

However, the issue was in the sessions_path (fixed by the second support team since the first one set the wrong path).

                    Kind regards!
