My church’s website (running Evolution 1.0.0) is just about to the stage where we can make it live, so I’m setting up users and groups and everything so that the right people can access the right sections.
My simplified resource hierarchy is something like:
-Home
-About
-Ministries
--Worship
--Children
--Youth
-Contact
I set up a resource group that includes everything because the Office Coordinator needs access to all of the content (is there a better way to give just one person/group access to everything without leaving all pages accessible to everybody?). I then have two people who need access to nothing but a ministry page each. One needs access to the Children’s Ministry page, and the other to the Youth Ministry page.
The problem is that if I give each of them access to only their one page, they can’t get to it because they don’t have access to the Ministries container. Their Resource list in the manager is therefore blank, even though they do have access to one page.
How can I allow them access to their one page without giving them access to the container? It would even be acceptable if they could see the container, but just couldn’t edit it.
Thanks!

Hmm. I don’t seem to have that option. Is it provided by some sort of plugin?

It should be there.
You want:
Tools | Configuration | Interface & Features tab | Show Protected Pages -> Yes.
Ohhh, I completely misunderstood you the first time, jusicgn. When you said ’2nd entry’, I was thinking you meant the option was called ’2nd entry’ for some reason. I found it now. Show Protect Pages is exactly what I needed. Thanks to both of you!

Sorry for being a little unclear.
Glad you’ve got it anyway.
