Update from old version

I am planning to upgrade my outdated modx
I am currently using a REALLY old version: 0.9.6.1p2 (i know...i shoudlve done it earlier)

I am going to do it on the live site, so I dont want to screw anythign up. Are the following steps correct?

0) Complete site backup
1) Download new version
2) Replace site with new files
3) Run /install/

just wanna check that i can update from 0.9.6.1p2 STRAIGHT TO the current version. can someone please confirm...???

and wanna check that there isnt anything else that i need to do? (eg. old config file - which i just checked will not be lost when i replace all files since the new one is named config.incl.php.blank)

I’ve upgraded similar old versions, but I always made a duplicate of the old site on my local development environment and upgraded that first just to be sure.
