    Hello everyone!

Iam quite new to MODx so i dare to ask some (maybe noobish) questions rolleyes

I´ve been working with drupal quite some time but always had an eye on MODx so i want to try to create a project i already realized in drupal based on MODx now (to test fexibility, performance and all that stuff)

    So whats the deal?
I want a "User upload database" , as the title already says. Chosen members should be allowed to upload files and other users should be able to comment on them and mark them as outdated so the creator can review them

Uploaders should have an overview of all their files so its easier for them to maintain and update the files.

During the upload process i want to extract some info from the uploaded files and add them to the file descrition/page of the file

i know its a lot but i would be glad if someone could point mi in the right direction what modules/snippets/whatever to use (in drupal there were only modules... huh)

    //edit:
running MODx evoution 1.0.0 on my localhost

    thanks

    arez

These snippets might be a place to start (though you may need some custom code depending on what you want to extract from the filed on upload):

i´ve already checked those packages but i thought they were only for just "dumping" files to my webserver without saving additional info to them... i will digg into the wiki today and try my best.
i still have to get used to the system how modx handles plugins/modules/snippets and chunks... this is absolutely new to me

        thank you very much grin

iam close to do so anyways

This new system is confusing me alot... could someone give me some guidelines (i´ve already read the doc) to get started with fancyupload? if you have some other resources for me to read (or video tutorials) i´d also appreciate it if you could post some links

The link in my sig might help you get a feel for how MODx works.

This is also a very nice introduction here : http://www.sottwell.com/modx-from-the-inside.html

V2 (Revolution) is fairly stable, but still in Beta and some of the add-on components haven’t yet been converted to work with Revolution.

Using V1 (Evolution), is probably the best choice if you will be creating live, working sites. If you are just creating yor own site to learn MODx, I’d recommend Revolution.

              Welcome to MODx. wink
