Automatic Backup?

Is there anything that Automates Backing up of a Modx site?

I’m using this with daily backup while developing and then change it to weekly when we go live.

The danger of automatic backup is that if your site is hacked, you can end up backing up the hacked site and possibly overwriting the pre-hacked site.

I prefer to look the site over before doing a backup. YMMV.

this is true.. but shouldnt a solution that backs up to a new file name be fine?

I use MySQL Administrator.
It will backup remote DB’s on a schedule, each backup is a .sql file.
It also has restore features etc.

Absolutely, as long as you have the storage space.
