RSS Feeds of posts

so we are trying to figure out how to make an RSS feed out of our blog container so people can subscribe to it and get updates and new posts are made and i can’t figure it out. Any pointers?

Use Ditto

ok i followed the instructions, but i just get a blank page. not really blank, it shows the RSS and subscribe thing, but it doesn’t have any content, and i’m sure i’m doing something wrong. but at least i get the RSS Subscribe page. Any more pointers, what do i have to do so it reads a container?

create a new template called RSS

Paste the Ditto call

Create a new document called RSS, choose the template above and make sure that the "Page Type" is "application rss/xml"

that is exactly what i did... i followed those instructions and pasted everything in exact, and it seemed pretty easy, i thought.

then where are the news/blog posts? shouldn’t some sort of info show up? like what people are subscribing too? Maybe i don’t understand how this whole rss thing works then. I was hoping that when a new Blog post or something was made it was show up.

I was able to locate this from http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/RSS

however definitely look at the bottom of the the wiki.modxcms as it makes note of how quest marks’s need to be changed to q etc it has its own varaible api it appears.

well, using the links you posted Jesse, and the others i stumbled upon http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Basic_RSS_feed which it perfect!
