        Thanks bunk58, but they don’t seem to be listed if there are no elements associated with the category, but they are still present in the drop down list when creating a new element.

        Other then creating a temp element associated with the category and then deleting, is there another way to delete.

                Hello Guys,

                thanks a lot!

                There is another plugin for ressources management. http://modxcms.com/extras/package/?package=589
                That make it possible to assign and manage TVs on the Template-edit-page. That make easy assigning while creating or edit a template.
                Give it a try.

                And maybe also interesting, now that you can handle the categories, this one http://modxcms.com/extras/package/?package=588
                It makes Tabs from the categories on document-edit-page. So your TVs will displayed in a nice order and sorting.
                (i submitted an update for this two days ago, but its not yet released. Use the one from the attachment can’t attach something. So please wait for the release of version 0.2.5. the first attempt which you can currently download has two serious bugs. Its not recommendable as it is)

                Use the module to handle the categories, use the tvs_on_template to sort the tvs for a template and use the tvs_categorized_tabs to display your tvs on the document page.
                I had exactly these wishes and made these plugins.. thats all.

                If you have the time, it would be very nice if you can check them out. And give back some error report.
                Thanks.

                hasta luego, Stefan

                    I just tested your module, stefan.
                    It works great.
                    Anyway, each time I run the module, there is a bunch of notification like this.

                    Is this something I must aware of?
                    It happens to all snippets/plugins.

                      Hallo Goldsky,

                      Is this something I must aware of?
                      definitely not.

                      It happens to all snippets/plugins.
                      That means that this messages will appear if you select snippets or plugins for categorization?

                      I can’t reproduce it, whatever the level of error_reporting is, no notice appear.

                      If you chose an elementgroup, the requested data is a POST array looks like this
                      Array (
                          [module_categories_manager] => Array (
                              [ajax]     => 1
                              [task]     => categorize_load_elements
                              [elements] => snippets
                          )
                      )

                      But this is covered by the protect function.

                      To reproduce the message from where it comes i put this to the protect.inc.php
                      $a = array('5','4','3');
                      $v = explode(';', $a);
                      $a [should be|expect as] a string but is an array.
                      if error_reporting on E_NOTICE the notice-message you see on your screen is appear.

                      But the error_reporting is set by default(manager/index.php 69) to "error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE)". This exclude the notice messages.
                      But the error_reporting setting is behind the include of the protect.inc.php(index.php 59).

                      That results in two questions:

                      1. Why the notice appear?
                      speculative answer : The error_reporting is set to E_NOTICE in your php.ini

                      2. What cause it?
                      speculative answer: Something is going wrong whithin the protect.inc.php

                      On what system you run this installation? register_globals on/off?

                      A really bad fix would be to move the line 69(manager/index.php) "error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);" before the line "require_once(’./includes/protect.inc.php’);".
                      But this is not really how to solve such issues.

                      Another question: you installed the tvs_on_template plugin. Is it running? Yesterday i got feedback that nothing happens after correct install.

                      hasta luego, Stefan
