Hi there,
I am looking for a CMS, which can do certain things and I am not sure MODx is the right one. Most CMS are oriented to the site editor/administrator but I need something that allows the user community to publish content. In fact I need my user to be able to publish the entire content of the web site. Can MODx help in this case?
Here is my wish list and I’ll be happy if someone can tell me if those are possible with this CMS:
1) Basic but flexible user profiles. The administrator should be able to configure the information that’s collected from new users. Control over the profile display would be nice.
2) Generic content types like: page, image, file. All users with the right privileges should be able to create and organize their own contents.
3) Standard tagging and taxonomies
4) Every user’s content should be shown on the user’s profile page. The display should be customizable
5) Multiple image galleries per user
6) Basic social networking functionality: friends list, internal messaging, forums, etc.
Think of a site like Google’s Picasa where every user can create albums, upload images in their own albums, write comments to other user’s pictures, have favorite users, etc. Add options to uload not only images but text types as well. Can MODx do that?
Thanks!
